United wide midfielder Matt Robson has joined Conference side Gateshead on loan until the end of this season, according to official sources, and immediately gained a place in their team for their 0-0 home draw against Woking tonight.
Robson, 29, has been with Carlisle since 2009, but has found a starting slot difficult to find under new Manager Keith Curle.
He has been used as a left back and on the left wing throughout his time at the club.
He has made over 200 appearances for United, scoring 24 goals, and his current contract with the Cumbrians runs out in June 2015.
