United’s early buy and renewal deadline, which was due to close today, has been extended until the end of next week.
Fans now have until 5pm on Friday 8 June to secure their season ticket at the discounted rate – an equivalent five-game saving to match day prices.
Chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: "The feedback we've had from fans over the past few weeks is telling us that they're waiting to see who the new manager is going to be before committing to a season ticket.
"We think that is understandable and, having listened closely to what our supporters have to say, we have extended the early buy and renewal period accordingly.
"The process we're going through ahead of appointing the new manager is both thorough and diligent, and we understand that can be unsettling as people wait for updates. I am sure everyone understands that we want the right person in post, and that sometimes takes time to complete.
"In terms of current season ticket numbers, we'll be updating everybody at our monthly press conference on Friday [1 June].”
Ticket office manager Tarn Simmons said: “We're really encouraged by the correspondence we’ve had which has made it clear that we have a high number of supporters who intend to renew again.
“Those who haven’t bought for next season have told us that they're waiting to see who the manager is, and we completely understand that. We contacted all of the Carlisle United Supporters’ Groups [CUSG] this morning and they agreed that the right thing to do in this situation was to extend the deadline.
“This will give more of our fans the time they need and we’re looking forward to what we think will be a very busy period ahead of our new deadline date.”
