Starting with the trio heading for the exit door, former Falkirk and Hibernian central midfielder Patrick Cregg, ex-Watford winger Billy Gibson and former Sheffield Wednesday centre-half Nick Wood have all been released after today's 3-0 pre-season friendly defeat at home to Newcastle.
Cregg presumably the closest of the three to getting a deal at Brunton Park as he played 45 minutes at Kendal, the full 90 at Workington and then the second-half today. Gibson meanwhile got in 45 minutes at Kendal and Workington and then 23 minutes against Newcastle, himself and Cregg having been on trial with United since the 5th of July.
19-year old Wood was quickly in and out of the club though after just four days in Cumbria, the central defender scoring an easy late winning goal in his 21 minutes on the pitch at Workington on Tuesday, before playing the first 45 minutes of last night's 1-1 under-19s draw against Gillford Park at the Sheepmount and then just eight minutes of today's game against Newcastle.
As for those staying, Ivorian striker Francois Zoko has been awarded an extended trial spell, and he will spend next week at United's training camp at Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire. The 26-year old perhaps also due to play a part in Carlisle's next pre-season friendly, that coming up away to Darlington next Friday night.
Young Shamrock Rovers duo Craig Walsh and Gary Shaw will also remain on trial with the club, unlike Zoko though the Irish pair will link back up with United after the trip to Leicestershire for their further spell at Brunton Park. Striker Shaw having been the only one of the two in action so far after playing the full 90 minutes against Gillford Park last night, Blues fans therefore still waiting for their first look at SKY TV central midfield starlet Walsh.
Finally comes 21-year old Sunderland centre-half Jean-Yves M'Voto who played 82 minutes for the Blues today before being replaced by fellow defensive trialist Wood. The word from the club being that the Frenchman enjoyed today's run-out against Newcastle and will give Carlisle an answer on any potential loan or further trial spell in the next 48 hours.
