19-year old Ferris moves up to the full-time ranks after coming to the end of his three-year stint with the youth-team, a length of scholarship that has now seemingly been abandoned by the club. Ferris has been with United since his Centre of Excellence days and has recently returned from a very nasty knee injury that sidelined him for five months.

The Carlisle-born youngster was top scorer for the youth team in the 2004-05 season with 19 goals and big things were expected of him in the campaign just gone. That knee ligament tear came though only three months in, during a reserve team clash at Preston in October and decimated Ferris' season, although he did come back strongly to the end of the campaign, netting three times for the reserves and four times for the youth team on his return to action in early March.

17-year old Bradley, in his position as a goalkeeper, has already seen first team action for United, having been on the bench on eight seperate occasions in the past two seasons due to injuries to Carlisle's normal second-choice glovesman. Bradley bench-warming this season after Blues boss Paul Simpson had seen enough faith in him to allow Anthony Williams to join Bury on loan for a month.

The Carlisle-born keeper is an oustanding shot-stopper on his day and has bailed out the Blues youth-team numerous times this season with some fantastic saves. He also possesses, in a similar vein to first-choice glovesman Keiren Westwood, a huge goal-kick which can cause opposition defences a lot of problems. Bradley was also named as the most improved player in the youth team ranks at the end of season awards and next season could prove to be a breakthrough campaign for the youngster.
