United Get The Toughest Tie Possible

Last updated : 13 November 2011 By Thetashkentterror

After being hammered 4-0 at the Valley last month, United get to go to South London all over again, more than likely for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 3rd December in the second round of the FA Cup, a competition in which the two sides have never played each other before. Carlisle having only won once in 20 attempts at Charlton, losing 13 and drawing six of the other matches, that sole victory for the Blues though coming this year in the 2010-11 season courtesy of a 3-1 scoreline in early March.

Elsewhere in the draw which was made at Wembley Stadium this afternoon, there are some good ties for a few non-league clubs with Fleetwood Town v Yeovil Town, Sutton United v Notts County and AFC Totton v Bristol Rovers all looking likely to be televised games. While, to be honest, as far as Footbal League sides playing each other is concerned, Carlisle away to Charlton is clearly the pick of the ties.
