M'Voto
With Danny Livesey out injured for the next few months, it is no secret that the Blues are in the market for a centre-half and the latest one to hit the famous radar is Frenchman Jean-Yves M'Voto. The 6'4 defender having joined the Black Cats from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2008 on a three and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

M'Voto in his time in his native Paris making 41 appearances and scoring four goals for Saint-Germain's CFA reserve side, that level being the fourth division as far as the French football pyramid is concerned. M'Voto also featuring for the French under-19 side on occasion while with Les Rouge-et-Bleu.

It was then Sunderland manager Roy Keane who decided to take the plunge on signing M'Voto, although the Frenchman has yet to even feature on the bench once for the Wearside outfit in two and a half years. The Parisian going out on loan to Southend last season in League One for a six month spell from the start of the campaign, only for that move to end early in September due to the need for a hip operation to remove some loose bone in the joint.

The Shrimpers agreed in December to extend M'Voto's loan move to the end of the season once the Frenchmen was fit again though, that return to action coming right at the end of January, with Jean-Yves eventually making 17 starts and two substitute appearances, while scoring one goal for Southend. Now though the 21-year old is looking for some regular football at Brunton Park and he will start today's pre-season friendly at home to Newcastle as he begins that quest.
