Grand, 25, made thirty-seven starts in league and cup for Vics last term after being thrown a lifeline by Dino Maamria in September. He had been released by Coca-Cola League Two outfit Morecambe at the end of the previous campaign and was a free agent. His outstanding form in the run-in earned him the vote for non-League top tier's best player, a month in which he headed four goals to aid Vics' six-match winning streak.

I'm sure he'll enjoy the environment at Workington but I've told him he's joining the squad and there's no guarantee he will be in the team. He has to work as hard as everybody else in pre-season training. He's going away on a week's holiday and when he comes back we'll get together and he will sign the necessary forms."
