Barrow AFC today announce the release of seven players in preparation for next Season. The players released are Paul Brown, Matt Henney, Lee Hunt, Nat Kerr, BRENDAN MCGILL, Paul Tait and Lee Woodyatt. The club would publically like to thank all the players for their efforts during their time at Holker Street, and wish them every success in the future.



KEVIN SANDWITH has signed a new one-year deal with Blue Square Premier club Oxford United. The defender will stay with the club after a successful two-month stint. The 30-year-old quit troubled Weymouth in February and linked up immediately with U's manager Chris Wilder, who had previously been his boss at Halifax Town. He said: "It's a big relief to get it sorted so early. Now I can enjoy my summer and look forward to the coming season."



Both Hull City and Huddersfield Town have agreed seven day extensions for JOHN WELSH and Phil Jevons to remain at Gigg Lane for the final game of the season against Accrington Stanley. Both players will be available for selection ahead of this season defining game at Gigg Lane.



Darren Edmondson has put pen-to-paper and signed a new three-year deal at Blue Square North club Workington. Edmondson's contract expired this month and Borough Park chiefs have moved quickly to secure the services of the former Carlisle United defender. The deal means he will now stop at Workington until 2012.




Former Northern Ireland international defender Mark Clyde has been handed a trial by Worcester City. Clyde played 70 minutes of the commemorative match against AFC Liverpool at St George's Lane yesterday which City won 3-0.

Clyde, who made a big impression during a loan spell with Kidderminster Harriers from Wolves in 2002, was joined by keeper Jake Meredith and midfielder DAN DILLON, who were with Team Bath but are moving to Loughborough University.




Three of Walsall's most experienced players - Michael Ricketts, Stephen Hughes and PAUL BOERTIEN - are being allowed to leave the Banks's Stadium. All three, along with youngster Hassan Bacchus, are out of contract and have not been offered new deals.

Eight out-of-contract players have been offered new deals by the Saddlers. Clayton Ince, Rene Gilmartin, Manny Smith, Netan Sansara, Sofiene Zaaboub, Jabo Ibehre, Richard Davies and Chris Palmer have been asked to stay.




Bristol City are in discussions with Izzy Iriekpen with regards to his future at Ashton Gate. The defender arrived on a free transfer in January, after leaving Scunthorpe United, and was contracted until the end of the season. David Noble and JENNISON MYRIE-WILLIAMS have been released by the club, while on-loan Southampton striker Stern John has also left Ashton Gate.




Nine of Wycombe manager Peter Taylor's first team squad have left Adams Park, as the Chairboys reveal the players who are not to be retained for the 2009/10 campaign. MAGNO VIEIRA, Robbie Rice, Leon Crooks and Scott McGleish have all departed, whilst first year professionals Callum Botham, Darrell Ellams, Scott Shulton and Jamie Turley will not be offered new terms this summer. Will Antwi also leaves the club as a free agent.

Youth team hot shots George Daly and Dan Fitchett have both been offered professional contacts and will begin the new campaign as part of the Blues first team squad. Second year apprentices Jordan Lumsden, David Pearce, Craig Read and James Reading all depart the club.




Northwich Victoria manager ANDY PREECE has won the Blue Square Premier `Manager of the Month` award for April. Despite the club suffering the disappointment of relegation to the Blue Square North their form during the final weeks of the season was the best in the division.

Northwich Victoria defender SIMON GRAND has won the Blue Square Premier `Player of the Month` award for April. Grand was a key part in the Vics blistering April form, despite the club being relegated to the Blue Square North. Grand contributed with three goals during the period as well as commanding a defence that conceded only three times in seven games.




MATT JANSEN will this week tell manager Dean Saunders if he is to sign a new Wrexham contract. The 31-year-old former Premier League star scored once in three Wrexham games during a pay-as-you-play spell before a knee injury ended his season. Injury-prone Jansen needs a knee operation this summer and is considering his football future.




Doncaster Rovers have released five players - strikers Tomi Ameobi, Darren Byfield, Jason Price and GARETH TAYLOR as well as central defender Gordon Greer. The quintet were only bit-part players for Rovers last season and were all farmed out on loan at some stage of the campaign.




Blyth Spartans have announced a replacement for manager Harry Dunn who left the club at the end of the season. MICK TAIT, the former Hartlepool and Darlington boss, takes over the Croft Park club with immediate effect. "We are absolutely delighted that Mick has agreed to join us," said Spartans Chairman Tony Platten.




Brighton's former Coventry and Port Vale midfielder CHRIS BIRCHALL could be playing alongside David Beckham at Los Angeles Galaxy next season. Birchall, 25, is training with the American team, with a view to signing a four-year contract in July.

The Trinidad and Tobago international told BBC Radio Stoke: "From what I'm hearing, Beckham will be back in July. "Hopefully if the deal goes through, it would be a privilege to play with him and I can learn a lot from him."




Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre has informed four players today that he will not be requiring their services next season. He has taken the decision not to offer new contracts to Scott Thomson (37), KEVIN HARPER (33), Callum Reidford (21) and Stuart Dearden (18).

Greg Ross (22) and Paul Willis (17) have been offered one year contracts and a decision has yet to be made over the contracts of the full time Under 19s - Lee Graham, Ryan Thomson, Jordan White and Harry McGregor. Simon Wiles (24) has been offered a short term contract up to the end of August to give him time to prove his fitness.



Former Chesterfield players DAVID REEVES and Steve Blatherwick have confirmed they are interested in taking over from Lee Richardson at Saltergate. The duo are on the coaching staff at Blue Square North side Gainsborough and assistant boss Reeves knows they lack the experience of other candidates. He told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We'd love an interview if truth be known. It would be great to go back. We'd probably bring someone we know with loads of experience."




Portadown manager Ronnie McFall has swooped to sign Ballymena United striker Neil Teggart and former Derry City defender DARREN KELLY. Both players have signed three-year deals with the Championship champions. Kelly returns for a second spell with the Ports after being released by English club York City.



Kidderminster Harriers have offered new contracts to four of their squad following the end of the season. Both boss Mark Yates and Assistant Neil Howarth agreed new one-year deals to remain in charge at Aggborough on Friday after discussions with the board over the last week.

With their deals done, the Manager has revealed to the official website that Martin Riley, Matthew Barnes-Homer, Brian Smikle and Sam Foley have all been presented with fresh terms for the new campaign. Justin Richards, Keith Lowe, Adam Bartlett, Michael Carr, MARTIN BRITTAIN, Chris McPhee, Luke Jones and Craig Armstrong are all expected to leave the club once their current deals expire.
