Morecambe Reserves 1-0 United Reserves

The run had to come to an end sometime but it's disappointing that it had to finish against second-placed Morecambe when the Blues were just beginning to show signs that they were capable of making a late title challenge. Jon Newby, perhaps in an offside position, scoring the only goal of the game in the first-half to give the Shrimps all three points.

Positive news from the match is that Paul Thirlwell got another 90 minutes under his belt as he looks likely to fill in for the suspended Chris Lumsdon at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday. United's second-string get the next chance to resume winning ways when they face Bury next Wednesday in a 2pm kick-off at Brunton Park.
