Another draw came at the Fraser Eagle stadium when Accrington Stanley drew 1-1 at home to Bury on Wednesday afternoon, with both goals coming within the first six minutes. The Reds taking the lead in the opening minute of the match through a header from reserves hot-shot David Brown, and the Shakers equalising just five minutes later when French-born Michael Wolski hit home an excellent 25 yard free-kick. The rest of the match seeing few chances to break the deadlock as a draw became an inevitable result.
Blackpool bounced back from their 6-1 drubbing at home to Accrington Stanley last week to put four on the road past a Manchester City side who have now shipped nine goals in their last two outings. The game, played at the Regional Athletic Arena SportCity in Manchester, turned out to be a cakewalk for the Seasiders who were 1-0 up at half-time thanks to a neat finish from Ciaran Donnelly. That lead was doubled shortly after the break courtesy of a Rory Prendergast free-kick, with further goals from Matty Kay and Sean Paterson completing the rout of the Citizens.
As we know United slipped to an extremely disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to a youthful Tranmere side last night, the Rovers goals coming from Sean Ferguson and Craig Curran, with Danny Livesey scoring the lone goal for an out-of-form Cumbrians second-string. Carlisle's next reserve team game comes on Wednesday the 20th of October in a 7pm kick-off at Brunton Park, ex-Blues first-team coach Billy Barr bringing his Preston North End "stiffs" outfit with him in what promises to be a spicy encounter.
