Two games in Lancashire going down the pan, both of them involving teams who play their home matches at alternative venues, Burnley's game with Tranmere postponed at Accrington Stanley while Rochdale's match with, ironically enough, Accrington Stanley, was called off at Rossendale United.
It was all Accrington this week as table-topping Carlisle defeated Stanley 3-2 at home on Monday afternoon, the United goals coming from Grant Smith, a Michael Bridges penalty and Czech Republic trialist Jakub Hottek, with Andrew Proctor and Jamie Clarke netting for the visitors.Next week there is no scheduled action in the division, although Hartlepool do play at home to Sheffield United in Carlisle's League Cup group.
