A couple of matches in the division were postponed due to different reasons this week, Burnley's scheduled match at Rochdale falling foul of a waterlogged pitch. While Accrington's home game with Tranmere was called off as Stanley were supposed to facing Darlington at the Fraser Eagle Stadium on Tuesday night, that League Two fixture itself though being postponed due to a frozen pitch.
The only other game, bar Carlisle's, being a 3-2 win for Manchester City at home to Bury, the Citizens gaining revenge for losing at the Shakers by a similar scoreline last week. The visitors again looking like they were going to take all three points when they raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Efetobore Sodje and a Richie Baker penalty. City though turning things round with a brace of goals from Jack Redshaw and a single John Guidetti strike.
As we already know the Blues second-string lost 2-1 at home to Morecambe in a disappointing display that leaves United with a weakened chance of winning the title despite still being at the top of the table, the Carlisle goal coming from trialist Gavin Rothery while Matty Poole scored twice for the visitors. United's next league match coming in almost three weeks when they travel to Tranmere for a 7pm kick-off on Wednesday the 11th of February.
