Preston maneged to get their first win of the season on the board on Monday evening as they won 3-1 at Accrington. Ryan McGreevy netted first for North End before the home side equalised just before the break, McGreevy scoring a second after the interval though to make it 2-1, while Scott Davidson wrapped things up when he tapped home Danny Devine's cushioned header.
Carlisle made it three wins from three at Hyde United's Ewen Fields against Oldham on Wednesday evening, the United goals coming from Conor Tinnion, Graham Kavanagh and Ryan Bowman, while Philip McGrath got on the scoresheet for the Latics.
Next week, with a full list of Football League fixtures, there are no reserve league matches scheduled, although from our division Preston North End, Morecambe and Tranmere all opted to play in the League Cup so they are in action in that tournament. As for United, our next second-string fixture comes in a top-of-the-table clash at home to Rochdale on Monday the 12th of October in a 2pm kick-off at Brunton Park.
