Carlisle taking the lead on ten minutes through Gary Madine only for the visitors to equalise just sixty seconds later when Scott Spencer netted. Spencer scoring again to increase 'Dale's lead just before the break before Joe Thompson made it 3-1 after 52 minutes. Ryan Bowman's last minute strike proving to be no more than a consolation for the 17-year old forward who has now hit four goals in four reserve matches this season.
Wrexham have now moved up to second place in the table after they defeated Accrington Stanley 4-0 at home in a fixture that took place at Globe Way, Buckley Town FC. The Red Dragons scoring two goals in each half, first through Mike Williams on 21 minutes and then Adrian Cieslewicz after 33 minutes. Simon Brown with 48 minutes gone and then Matty Wolfenden seven minutes later completing the Wrexham rout.
There were even more goals at the QED Stadium, Bamber Bridge though as Preston lost 4-3 at home to Blackpool in a mini-derby. Two goals from Ryan McGreevy and a header from Tom Smyth getting the goals for North End only for the Seasiders to go one better as Billy Clarke, Louis Almond and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas with two goals, one of which came from the penalty spot, got on the Tangerines scoresheet.
It's two weeks now until the next run of reserve matches, Carlisle facing an away fixture at Accrington Stanley's Crown Ground at 7pm on the evening of Monday 26th October. Wrexham then having the chance two days later to leap above Rochdale and move to the top of the table if they can defeat fourth placed Tranmere at home.
