Oldham lifting themselves above Preston and into fifth in the table as they defeated Blackpool 4-3 at home, the match played at Ewen Fields, Hyde United FC. The Latics going 1-0 up through former Carlisle youth team trialist Laquan Esdale-Biney on 38 minutes before he turned villain at the other end moments later and conceded a penalty, the spot-kick being converted by Louis Almond.
Into the second-half and Paul Black made it 2-1 to Oldham after 57 minutes before Blackpool's Gary Taylor-Fletcher levelled eight minutes later, Taylor-Fletcher then scoring again on 72 minutes to regain the lead for the Seasiders at 3-2. Visiting hearts were broken though as the Latics scored twice in the last two minutes to take all three points, Esdale-Biney grabbing his second goal of the game before Nick Blackman netted 60 seconds into injury time.

With Carlisle's game at Accrington postponed last week due to a waterlogged pitch at the Crown Ground, the United second-string hope to play their first league game in a month when they face Preston at Brunton Park in a 7pm kick-off on Wednesday night.
