Rochdale continue to impress at all levels as a club this season and they thrashed Oldham 7-0 at home in a match played at Stainton Park, Radcliffe Borough FC. Former Latics youngster Kallum Higginbotham grabbing a hat-trick while Andy Howarth, Callum Byrne, Preston youth team trialist Oliver Devenney and Scott Hogan all added to Dale's massive tally.
The goals were also flying in at Bloomfield Road where Blackpool defeated Morecambe 4-3 in their seaside derby. The Tangerines scoring through two goals from Danny Mitchley and others from Ishmel Demontagnac and Jason Euell, while Wayne Curtis netted a hat-trick for the Shrimps, with one of his goals coming from the penalty spot.
Finally, in the League Cup, Preston finished top of their qualifying table for the semi-finals and knocked Bradford out by beating City 4-3 at Irongate, Bamber Bridge in another seven goal thriller. Jamie Proctor, George Miller, Michael McLellan and Danny Mayor all scoring for North End, while Scott Neilson with a brace and Rory Boulding got the goals for the Bantams.
Next week there are four games on in the division, with Blackpool the only side out of action in a nine team league. Carlisle meanwhile have a tough home match to look forward to as they take on third-placed Wrexham at Brunton Park in a 2pm kick-off on Monday afternoon.
