With the first team away in action at Alfreton in their own cup competition it was left to the youth team to take on St Bees at Brunton Park in an extremely junior version of a cup contest. Paddy Madden, returning from injury, was the only professionally contracted player on show, while two schoolboys featured, one of them being Patrick Brough again with the other being 15-year old Cole Walker-Taylor, the goalkeeper filling in for youth team stopper Jordan Parker who was absent ill.
