Hopefully both sides can do better than they did last season when they were knocked out at home as early as the second round stage, having already received byes through to that part of the competition, Cumberland going down 4-0 at Penrith against Durham, while down in Kendal Westmorland were defeated by the same scoreline as they took on the East Riding FA.
Remarkably the same tie has come out in the draw again this season for Westmorland, albeit in the first round, while Cumberland have once more got a bye through to the next stage where they will face either Lincolnshire or Northumberland on the road. Lincolnshire in the 2010-11 campaign losing 4-1 at home to the Manchester FA at their first hurdle in the second round, while Northumberland defeated Cheshire 2-1 at home and the Isle of Man 6-2 at home before finally succumbing on their own soil 2-1 against Birmingham at the round three stage.
Birmingham making it as far as the semi-finals last season where they lost at home to Norfolk, Sheffield & Hallamshire the other final four failures as they were defeated 2-0 at home against Staffordshire. Home advantage in the final didn't help Staffordshire though as they went down 4-2 versus Norfolk at the Britannia Stadium, Stoke City in front of an attendance of 580.
