FA Youth Cup - Third Round Draw Update

The big prize
In similar fashion to the FA Cup the third stage is where the top two divisions come in with one of the standout ties being Conference Premier side Stevenage Borough at home to Premier League giants Chelsea. York City are the only other non-league side still in at this stage of the competition after a surprise win in the last round at Bury, their meagre reward for that being a trip to Chester.

Like York holders Liverpool are also on the road, the Reds drawn up against League two side Wycombe Wanderers. A quirk of fate has seen Burnley play Arsenal at home in the Third Round of both the FA Cup and the FA Youth Cup while Brighton's youngsters face the night of their football lives to date when they take to the field at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

Carlisle's wins over Stockport and Mansfield in the first two rounds mean the young Blues face a home tie against Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday in a 7pm kick-off at Brunton Park next Tuesday night. United facing a side who are having a particularly hard time of it this season in their regional section of the FA Premier Academy League.

The Owls sitting third bottom in a ten-team table having won only two of their fifteen league games to date as they ship goals at the rate of over two per match. With Kosovan-born brothers Rocky and Leon Lekaj, Rocky having represented Norway of all places at under-19 level, in their ranks though Wednesday will certainly be a tough nut for an in-form United side to crack on the night.
