Onto the better part of the game though and, on a wet and windy morning, United took the lead when Ryan Bowman nodded on a Tinnion corner into the path of Cook, who made no mistake for his ninth goal of the season. Cook then the provider for the second goal of the game when he moved the ball on for Jonny Blake to score with a well taken finish.
Carlisle's third goal involved Cook again, this time his shot hitting the inside of the Morecambe post, with Matt Duffy then following up to knock home the rebound. United making it 4-0 at half-time when Liam Davison headed into the back of the home net from a Tinnion free-kick.
Morecambe got their only goal of the game shortly after Tinnion's sending-off but the young Blues were able to see out of the rest of the game with no problems to claim their fourth win on the bounce. Carlisle taking a break from league action next week when they face unbeaten divisional rivals Wrexham at home, in a 12noon kick-off at Gillford Park, in the first round of the League Cup.
