A scrappy first half only saw the best chance fall to United early on when Stephen Hindmarch dragged a shot wide. Infact it took until the hour mark for Carlisle to take the lead against a Shrewsbury side who have now lost 15 of their 20 league games this season. Connor Tinnion tapping in at the back-post after Cook had flicked on a corner in from Jonny Blake.
The next two goals, to seal the win, were all Cook and Dalton as firstly Cook set up Dalton for a tidy finish then Dalton returned the favour as Cook fired home a powerful drive. With other results today Carlisle move up to fourth in the table and they will be looking to improve on that when they face Port Vale at home next Saturday morning, although all eyes will first turn to the FA Youth Cup quarter-final at Brunton Park this coming Thursday night against Aston Villa.
