United Youth 1-1 Darlington Youth

An entertaining match between the two sides saw Ashley Combe score the Cumbrians goal, in a more conventional game than the Hartlepool game three days earlier, the contest being played over two halves with Carlisle only using the two substitutes at half-time.

A few pre-season injuries still plague the youth team though, with Andy Hardman joining Stephen Hindmarch in suffering with sickness. Matthew Brown is also still sidelined with a calf problem, and the next friendly for the lads comes with a big game away to Newcastle next Wednesday.
