After returning from a four day training camp in North Wales on Thursday Carlisle rounded off the week with a game at Creighton today against Tesco Cumberland County League Premier Division side Warwick Wanderers. Missing four players with minor knocks though meant the Blues were left short of options as Tom Berwick, Pat Brough, Jack Lynch and Alex Salmon all watched from the sidelines, that meaning United lined up in a diamond formation at kick-off as follows:

0 mins - Very windy day, wind blowing up the slope, Carlisle have the wind behind them in the first-half.
2 mins - Watson shoots wide from 20 yards out.
3 mins - Dempsey cross in from the right, Peel 8-yard flicked header goes across goal and off target.
10 mins - Wanderers attack. Scott Divers cross in from the left, breaks to skipper Martyn Coward at back-post. Coward lays off to Mark Hutchinson for a toe-poke from the middle of the penalty area which nips inches past the Carlisle right-hand post.
11 mins - Wanderers attack. Mike Bell pass to Hutchinson in right-hand channel, Hutchinson tries 15-yard chip across goal which Brass parries away from danger.
13 mins - Gwinnutt short corner to McEvoy, his ball in is cleared by Sam Farrer to Dempsey 30 yards from goal. Dempsey tries half-volley from there which goes over the top and away about 150 yards into the distance on the wind.
23 mins - Minor deep cross over to the far-post, Peel swings left foot at attempted half-volley on the bounce from 6 yards out which he pulls wide of the near-post.
25 mins - Wanderers attack. Coward 25-yard drive hits Staunch and loops up into the air for Brass to take.
29 mins - Peel tries his luck from the Warwick 'D' but his low shot zips inches past Jordan English's left-hand upright.
34 mins - Dempsey shoots well wide of the target from 25 yards out.
35 mins - Clarey low cross in from the left, English spills it, does well though to block Watson's shot from 6 yards out on the loose ball.
38 mins - Wanderers attack. Bad throw out straight down the middle by Brass which falls at the feet of Bell, he feeds in Hutchinson in the right-hand channel for a 12-yard shot across goal that pings away off the base of the Blues right-hand post.
41 mins - Wanderers attack. Coward 20-yard low drive across Brass's goalmouth which goes narrowly wide of the far-post with Brass beaten.
43 mins - Clarey gets away down the left-hand channel, shot on goal from 15 yards out pushed away by English.
46 mins - Wanderers make one change during the break as Chris Ferrie comes on for Martyn Coward.
46 mins - Carlisle make three substitutions during the interval as Evan McEvoy, Jake Chisholm and Greg Peel all go off and Danny Dixon, Dillon Morse and 15-year old Connor Hammill come on. The main reshuffle comes in defence where Gwinnutt goes to right-back in place of McEvoy and Morse replaces Chisholm at right centre-half.
48 mins - Minor knicks possession off Paul Thompson deep in Warwick territory and then drills a 20-yard drive straight into the gloves of English.
52 mins - Minor takes a boot from a Craig Thompson in what looks like straight in the Christmas crackers. Gets treatment, wanders round for a bit then retires defeated as Chisholm comes back on in his place.
56 mins - Wanderers attack. Elliot Bell low ball in from the right goes all the way across the United box before reaching Divers at the back-post who slams a 12-yard half-volley into the United net, 0-1.
58 mins - Dixon corner in, a partially unsighted Dempsey heads over the top from 8 yards out.
61 mins - Dempsey shot from just outside the box which English parries out in front of himself, Clarey onto rebound, English does extremely well to parry behind Clarey's close range effort while still on the floor. Great save but Clarey should really have buried it. Hammill corner in, Thomson acrobatic overhead kick from 15 yards out goes straight into the arms of English.
67 mins - Hammill to Clarey, Clarey runs across front of penalty area, shot from the 'D' easily held by English.
68 mins - Wanderers attack. Hutchinson low drive from 15 yards out saved by Brass at his near-post.
70 mins - Warwick substitution as Coward comes back on for goalscorer Divers.
73 mins - Paul Thompson foul on Clarey 25 yards out to the left of the 'D', Dixon pushes it out wide to Chisholm on the left but his cross in is easily cleared by Matty Alsopp.
74 mins - Sharp one-two between Thomson and Gwinnutt into the box, but Thomson's shot from a tight angle on the right flies over the top.
75 mins - Lewis West replaces Matt Smith for Wanderers.
77 mins - Another Warwick substitution as Johnny Divers comes on for Bell.
78 mins - Dempsey to Watson down the left-hand channel, English pushes away Watson's 15-yard effort across goal.
79 mins - Hammill tries an extremely speculative shot from 35 yards out which only goes well over English's crossbar.
79 mins - During the break in play Wanderers make the final substitution of the match as Scott Divers comes back on for Craig Thompson, which means there are now two Divers on the pitch.
80 mins - Wanderers attack. Paul Thompson ball into the Carlisle box. Brass doesn't get to it and an 8-yard header from Johnny Divers is shepherded wide of the Blues left-hand post by Chisholm.
81 mins - Chisholm angled ball over the top of the Warwick defence, Dixon races onto it and knocks it past English just inside the penalty area before managing to smuggle it over the line from close range despite the best efforts of Coward to stop him, 1-1.
83 mins - Dixon shot over the top from 22 yards out.
84 mins - Hammill ball through the middle, Thomson just beaten in the challenge by English 5 yards outside his penalty area, Clarey latches onto the loose ball only to push it wide of a partly unguarded net with Farrer backpedalling rapidly towards his own goal.
87 mins - Wanderers attack. Nice one-two worked between Ferrie and Hutchinson, Ferrie 15 yards out fires low into the Blues net past Brass, 1-2.
89 mins - Wanderers attack. Ferrie makes it two in two minutes as he smacks a powerful shot from 25 yards out in the right-hand channel across goal and perfectly into the far corner of the United net, 1-3.
So, the first defeat in four pre-season matches for the young Blues thanks to a poor performance and two late goals from Wanderers, and while having five first-choice players out didn't help matters it did feel that the opposition wanted the win more. No time to lick the wounds for Carlisle though as it's now onto Queen of the South under-19s in a 7pm kick-off at Raydale Park, Gretna on Tuesday evening.
