After three away games on the bounce things didn't get any easier for the Cumbrians today either as they made the long trip down the M6 to the Birmingham FA headquarters to take on a third-placed Saddlers outfit who had only lost once in the league all season. Still, and with Mark Beck back in the ranks on a temporary break from his work experience spell at Workington Reds, Carlisle took the lead in the first ten minutes, and it was that man Beck too as he produced an excellent finish on the back of a Dave Symington pass up.

Walsall though managing to equalise before the break when Aaron Williams was able to convert a Matt Preston cross in. With 52 minutes gone however United regained the lead when Brad Potts made a good run forward before feeding the ball into Beck for another well executed finish from Carlisle's top scorer. The Saddlers though soon making it 2-2 five minutes later when Williams, like Beck, bagged his second goal of the afternoon.

Williams however moving head of Beck in the scoring stakes when he notched his hat-trick goal to put the home side 3-2 ahead. United though didn't give up and they managed to grab what would be prove to be the final goal of the game when Potts cracked in an excellent drive from the edge of the Walsall penalty area. The young Blues not having much chance to rest on their laurels though as their next game comes up in less than two days time, it being an 11am kick-off at Creighton Rugby Club against Macclesfield on Saturday morning.
