After defeating Wrexham 2-1 at home in the opening stage of the Youth Alliance Cup, thanks to goals from Andy Cook and Liam Davison, the young Blues have again been drawn against a team from the Blue Square Premier at home. This time versus a Mansfield outfit that Carlisle won 4-1 away to in the second round of the FA Youth Cup last season, the goals that evening coming from Gary Madine and a hat-trick from Andy Cook.
The young Stags got through to the second round of the League Cup in the current campaign after an excellent 4-1 win at Doncaster Rovers, Mansfield also now in the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup following a 9-0 victory at Loughborough and then a 6-0 win at Stamford. As far as the league goes the Stags have won two and lost three of their five games to date as they sit eighth of 13 teams in the North East Conference.
All games in the final sixteen of each region of the League Cup are to be played on Saturday the 22nd of November and the full draw is as follows :
