Burnley are the only 100%ers left now as they made it six wins out of six with a 1-0 victory at home to Blackpool. Meanwhile Wrexham moved up into second in the table after defeating Rochdale 3-1 in North Wales, and Wigan are up one spot to third after winning 2-1 on the road at winless Chester.
Into the mid-table reaches and Stockport were thumped 5-2 at home to Port Vale, while on the Wirral Tranmere won 1-0 against a Macclesfield side who have failed to taste victory in their first seven games, Bury the team beneath Tranmere and Stockport in the table as they defeated Accrington Stanley, who have lost their opening five matches, 2-1 at home.
As for last season's title-winners Walsall, they have now crept up to ninth after winning 2-1 at Shrewsbury, while lastly Morecambe and Preston North End fought out a 0-0 draw on the West coast. Carlisle, as we know, beat Oldham 2-1 at home thanks to a brace of goals from Ryan Bowman, and it is United's turn to travel to Morecambe next as they face a trip to the young Shrimps this coming Saturday morning.
