Youth Team League Weekend Update

Burnley's title hopes went up in smoke over the weekend as they weren't able to win either of the two matches that they needed to at the end of the campaign to pip Wrexham to first place. The Red Dragons taking the honours after the Clarets could only draw 0-0 at Oldham on Saturday, things getting worse for Burnley two days later though when they were hammered 7-3 at Preston in the final match in the division this season.

Elsewhere, Walsall, title winners last year, crept up to sixth in the table with a 3-2 victory at Morecambe, while Oldham's first match in three days had seen them draw 1-1 at home to Wigan. Finally, Bury on Saturday sneaked above Morecambe in the table by defeating Rochdale 3-1 away, that seeing the Shakers finish 14th of the 18 teams, Carlisle meanwhile ended another successful campaign in third.
