Into the mid-table reaches and Macclesfield won an entertaining game 4-2 at home against last season's title-winners Wrexham, while Burnley and Oldham fought out a 0-0 draw on Friday afternoon. Bury bounced back from defeat away to Carlisle last week to win 1-0 at Chester this week, while Accrington also had a good Saturday, Stanley winning their first game of the season 3-0 at home to Morecambe.
As we already know fifth-placed Carlisle defeated Blackpool 4-0 at home, Ryan Bowman with a hat-trick and Mark Sloan getting the United goals, Bowman now having netted ten times at youth and reserve team level so far in this campaign. Next Saturday sees the young Blues having to kick-off late due to a long trip north for Shrewsbury, the match scheduled to start at 12.30pm at the usual venue of Creighton Rugby Club.
