Youth Team League Weekend Update

Last updated : 07 December 2009 By Thetashkentterror
Last weekend was supposed to a blank one in the division but a few games had been scheduled to take the pressure off fixture lists later in the season, that didn't work out for Carlisle though as unsurprisingly given the recent weather in the area our game at Creighton was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The two matches that were played saw Stockport move one place above United and into fourth in the table with a 2-1 at Port Vale, while Blackpool lost again, this time 3-1 at home to Rochdale. That result means the Seasiders now occupy the wooden spoon spot as they have dropped below Accrington Stanley on goal difference.

It's a busy weekend for some of the Carlisle youngsters this time around as they will need to play two games in the space of 24 hours. United having their league fixture at Morecambe pulled forward to the Friday afternoon so that the Cumberland Cup tie at Wetheriggs, which kicks off at 1.30pm on Saturday, can be squeezed into an already heavily congested calendar.
