Stockport have now moved into that spot ahead of the Saddlers after defeating Morecambe 4-1 at home, while Rochdale make up the last of the top five having leapfrogged Wigan with a 2-1 win at the Latics. Into mid-table and Tranmere thumped Oldham 4-1 at home while Accrington picked up three more points this week with a 2-0 victory at Wrexham that lifted them off the foot of the table.
Finally, in Burslem, Port Vale against Bury was called off due to the weather, and Chester's scheduled game at home to Blackpool was also postponed. City again unable to raise a team as their farcical existence under the Vaughan regime continues. Next weekend was supposed to be a blank date in the division but five games in hand do take place, Carlisle meanwhile next in action at home to Stockport a week on Saturday.
