There was no league action at the weekend as the weather won once again, with Carlisle's next scheduled Alliance fixture coming on Saturday 8th January away to Burnley. United's next game being in the FA Youth Cup when they face Walsall, at the third time of asking, at home in the second round of the competition at Brunton Park on Wednesday night in a 7pm kick-off.
In other cup action it was the scheduled date for the area quarter-finals of the League Cup last Saturday, with only half the games beating the big freeze and in one of those matches the holders from last season, in Queens Park Rangers, were knocked out on penalties at Millwall. Finally, it's back to the league this weekend however for 14 teams in Carlisle's 17-club division, that is weather permitting of course.
