Last-gasp Zoko denies Latics

Carlisle rescued a 3-3 draw against Oldham with a goal from substitute Francois Zoko in the fifth minute of injury time.

Oldham were three goals up inside 38 minutes with a double from Shefki Kuqi and a header by Tom Adeyemi.

But Lee Miller pulled one back for Carlisle in first-half injury time and half-time substitute Zoko scored after the break to set up a terrific contest in which Oldham survived a non-stop battering right up to the final minutes.

The game burst in to life midway through the first half when Robbie Simpson was floored in the penalty area by Miller and Kuqi sent goalkeeper Adam Collin the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Oldham made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute when from Simpson's free-kick from the left, Adeyemi rose highest from 12-yards out to loop a header into the top right-hand corner.

Carlisle fell further behind in the 38th minute when Kuqi turned on David Mellor's cross from the left and smashed an unstoppable left-footed shot high into the net from 15 yards.

Carlisle finally got one back in first-half injury time when Miller planted a header past Alex Cisak from James Berrett's right-wing corner for his seventh goal in 11 league starts for the Cumbrians.

Zoko took less than two minutes to make his mark, racing on to Berrett's lovely through pass and clipping the ball past Cisak and just inside the left-hand post.

It looked as though Carlisle's brave efforts would be in vain until Zoko struck again with just seconds remaining, back-heeling the ball over the goalline from a yard out after a free-kick on the right had not been cleared.
