Official sources have reported that Manager Keith Curle is attempting to lure new players to Brunton Park this week, and that he would like four in by Saturday, with two being a realistic target.
“One has already been done, but we’re not saying anything about his name, position or parent club until 2pm on Saturday.
“We’re waiting to hear back on two more today, and we have another one in the building which still needs to be negotiated. I expect that one to be a bit more drawn out.”
The Blues squad is currently looking threadbare. Loanee defenders Brown and Anderson have now rejoined their parent clubs and Matt Robson has joined Gateshead for the rest of the season. It was announced today that striker Derek Asamoah has signed a month's extension to his contract, which will now expire on 5th February.
Alex Marrow and Danny Kearns are now back in training, but Marrow is not happy at the club and is not expected to figure in the Manager's future plans. Kearns will not be fit for Saturday. This leaves the available playing squad three players lighter than this time last week.
Paddock Pundit hopes that Keith Curle's plans come to fruition, otherwise the Paddock will not be a pleasant place on Saturday.
